There’s a road off to the left side
Another to the right
The right one is the wrong one
And the left is looking nice
Might be the wrong decision
But conviction’s on my side
Either way it’s been a hell of a ride
I’ve done my share of volunteering
And other times I don’t
I got a whole bag of excuses
To not pick up the phone
I’ve got a Good Samaritan heart
But I’m still bad to the bone
When I leave my moral compass at home
I’m just trying to find
A given sign for a piece of mind
And a sense of navigation
I’ve spent my whole damn life
Down the line, lost in time
And I could use a little direction
So moral compass guide my way
I think of all the girls
Who took me in when I strayed
Try to put me on the right path
Lord I should wanna stay
But why do I grab that hammer
And make that moral compass break
When they’ll point me on my way
I’m just trying to find
A given sign for a piece of mind
And a sense of navigation
I’ve spent my whole damn life
Down the line, lost in time
And I could use a little direction
So moral compass guide my way
I’ve come to realize
I need to magnetize
To stop me spinning around
I’m just trying to find
A given sign for a piece of mind
And a sense of navigation
I’ve spent my whole damn life
Down the line, lost in time
And I could use a little direction
So moral compass guide my way
